Yuki

The Yuki Indians lived in Northern California around what is now the Mendocino County area in the Coastal Range Mountains. Yuki baskets were coiled from dogwood, honeysuckle, hazel, or willow shoots, sewn together with fibers of redbud. The baskets were decorated in patterns and colors of white, red, and black. More utilitarian, twined baskets were made more quickly and were typically not decorated.
